as long as their SDI allows them to have them sent to him, yes they can use them. Some SDIs allow them and some don't soooo we are back to the old addage of don't send anything unless they ask for...

you should not send your recruit any item that they have not asked for as it could be considered contraband. The recruits can purchase the thorlo socks at the recruit exchange if their SDI allows them...
